Autobiographical Cyclone Progress

The structure of the reed and thread cyclone is nearly complete.

Time to start digging through old photo albums for the images to go on it.  I have figured out how to print onto a transparent paper called Glassine.  I will make up a small cyclone to do tests on, as I have to figure out how to adhere the images to get the ghost-like quality I want.

  1. cool project… can’t wait to see how it turns out. have you considered using digital skins made from acrylic media? i think it might be cool to have the texture of the cyclone coming through in addition to the translucency of the photos – with glossy media they might even be able to be stiffened and textured to mimic glass? 2. Hi there,

Thanks for your comment. No, I never thought of skins made from acrylic media. I’m not familiar with acrylic and would certainly give it a try.
Today I have been applying the images to the cyclone. It’s working out nicely.

Thank you again for the suggestion! I will look into it for future pieces.
