San Francisco Exhibition

Friday, April 29th, 2011

Through June and July I will show an exhibition of my work at the historical Bank of America building in San Francisco.  This is the second tallest building in the city and a focal point of the Financial District.  There is a rotating art program curated by Jan Casey Bertrand of Casey and Associates Art Advisors.  Approximately ten to fifteen of my works will be on display.

I give thanks to Micaëla van Zwoll for recommending me to Ms. Casey.

The exhibition will be available June through July, 2011, at 555 California Street.

Tumbleweed Before It’s Tumble

Friday, April 8th, 2011

Here’s a new piece I’ve completed, Tumbleweed Before It’s Tumble.  I love the image of those spindly weeds blowing and bouncing across a dusty landscape.  This piece captures the tumbleweed just before its tumble, roots still intact.

Teapot Exhibition

Tuesday, April 5th, 2011

Morgan Contemporary Glass Gallery is holding their 5th annual Teapots! exhibition.  More than 55 artists have been invited to participate in this year’s show, which features teapots in all media (ceramics, fiber, glass, metal, wood and found objects) capturing the versatility of the teapot form.  The exhibition runs April 1 to June 11.

This is the first year I have participated in this exhibition and I, of course, made a botanical teapot.

Bay Area Glass Institute

Friday, April 1st, 2011

I have joined the Board of Directors of the Bay Area Glass Institute, a non-profit organization that supports the glass art community.

My first areas of work will be building up the flameworking program and procuring grant funding.
